Don't Say 'Trump'

Tomorrow morning, when you check the news, you can be sure that the first headline, or perhaps the first few, will mention Trump. To many, Trump is a hero, while to even more, he is the embodiment of evil. Democrats channel all their energy and anger towards Trump, attempting to convince everyone that he is unsuitable for the revered office he currently holds. His admirers remain unaffected by these attempts; it only seems to enhance Trump's appeal and strengthen his supporters, who view him as a target and victim. However, Trump is merely the tip of the spear. Focusing mainly on Trump and his constant barrage of shocking actions is a distraction intended to divert attention from the broader agenda and actions of Republicans. If Democrats truly want to counteract, they should begin by avoiding the mention of the name ‘Trump’.

I am certain that Trump wakes up each morning and takes pleasure in seeing his name dominate the news media. What if the media began replacing ‘Trump’ with ‘Republicans’? This shift would have significant consequences. Beyond depriving Trump of his daily dose of narcissistic indulgence, it would start attributing Trump’s actions to the entire Republican party and their voters. Hold Republicans accountable, as we’ll never get accountability from Trump.
In videos of those who voted for Trump, many expressed that they liked him but disagreed with his plans and policies. What?!? You cannot separate your vote for Trump from the destruction he is now causing to the American people and our Constitution. By replacing ‘Trump’ with ‘Republicans’ in our news media, we send a clear message to all Republicans and those who voted for Trump that they are accountable for Trump’s actions. They are responsible for the racism, the assault on women, the harm to Ukraine, the dismantling of our government institutions and Constitution, and our decline on the international stage. When Republicans begin to realize what they have done, perhaps they will feel ashamed of their actions and find the courage to stand up and reclaim what it means to be American.
